For the Intel Museum in Santa Clara, my team was asked to create an exhibit that showcases Intel’s history of innovation with an immersive, interactive experience that is engaging and educational to visitors of all ages. As lead user experience designer for the Stimulant team, I designed a multi-user, multi-touch exhibit that tells the story of how next-generation processors and cloud technologies are used to create connected, smart cities powered by the Internet of Things.

The sun rises on our Smart City as visitors approach, revealing an animated environment full of life. Three stories unfold based on a visitor’s position in front of the touch wall. One story in particular sparks delight with schoolchildren by illustrating how a smart grid reroutes saved energy to power a Ferris Wheel. The exhibit uses Kinect cameras to sense and react to presence and an IR overlay to support touch input.
